The Evidora Setup Playbook: 5 Steps to Deflect Refunds, Friendly Fraud, and Disputes

A practical, do-this-then-that guide for new Evidora customers. Most of it takes minutes. The payoff is a measurable drop in refund requests, friendly fraud, and chargebacks.

Step 1: Trust badges Step 2: Thank-you page Step 3: Email receipt Step 4: CRM automation Step 5: Evidence packet
TL;DR

Evidora works the moment you install the snippet. But you leave money on the table if you do not also display the protection to your customers, embed it in receipts, automate the proof link into your support tools, and pull the evidence packet when a dispute lands. Five steps. Roughly thirty minutes total. Big drop in refunds, friendly fraud, and chargebacks.

You just installed the Evidora snippet. The recordings are running. The Evidence Record IDs are being created. Good.

Now you need your customers to see the protection, your receipts to carry the protection, your CRM to use the protection, and your team to pull the evidence in seconds when a chargeback shows up. This is the playbook.

Add trust symbols to your checkout page

Place security badges near the payment button. Almost every ecommerce checkout has them. The catch: most are decorative graphics that imply safety without actually doing anything. Yours are different.

Why this works Every badge above carries the same “Protected By Evidora” line, paired with a different visual style. Customers see the brand reinforcement consistently, and you can pick the icon that best matches your store’s look. Whichever you choose, the protection is real: a live, verifiable session recording tied to that specific transaction.

Drop the “Your Order Is Protected” block on your thank-you page

Right after the customer’s receipt, add a short, clearly-styled block that confirms the order was recorded and gives them a button to view it. This is the highest-leverage placement of the whole playbook.

Your Order Is Protected

A verified recording of your checkout was captured at the time of purchase. You can review exactly what you ordered, agreed to, and confirmed at any time.

Why this works Most refund requests come from confused or impulse-regret buyers, not malicious ones. When they can review the order they actually placed, the impulse to “just charge it back” tends to evaporate. They contact you instead. Or do nothing at all.

Add the same block to your email receipt

Customers see the thank-you page once. They see the email receipt repeatedly, often weeks or months after the purchase, exactly when “I don’t recognize this charge” disputes start to fire. Put the protection block in the email so they can review the order on demand.

Why this works A receipt that gives the customer a one-click way to see exactly what they bought is the cleanest preempt for late-arriving “I never authorized this” disputes. For a deeper walkthrough of email receipt setup, see customer email receipt protected by Evidora.

Automate the E-Record link into your CRM

Use the Evidora API to fetch the public E-Record URL for any order and inject it into Zendesk, Gorgias, Intercom, Help Scout, or your AI support agent. Every ticket that arrives now arrives with proof attached.

Re: A quick question about my order

Hi Jamie,

Thanks so much for reaching out, and we appreciate you giving us a chance to help. Our team is digging into your order details right now and will be back with you shortly.

While we look into it, here is the protected order link we have on file for you. It includes a recording of your checkout and a copy of what you saw and confirmed at the time of purchase. Most of our customers find it answers their question on the spot.

Either way, we have your back and we will follow up before end of day.

Thanks again,
The Velour Beauty Team

Why this works A meaningful share of “I want a refund” tickets are answered by the customer themselves the moment they review their own order recording. The link in the first reply does the work. Your team picks up the harder cases with proof already attached, instead of starting from zero.

Pull the evidence packet when a dispute lands

When a chargeback or formal dispute arrives, open the order in Evidora. Three things are now ready to drop into your representment, manually or via API.

Why this works Banks reverse chargebacks when the merchant produces specific, structured evidence. Product list, IP and device, timestamp, consent action, and a watchable recording is exactly that, in the format card networks already expect under Compelling Evidence 3.0 and First-Party Trust. Drop these into your representment and watch your win rate climb. For more on what wins, see 5 things that actually win chargeback disputes.

The result: refunds and disputes you never had to fight

Each step alone moves the needle. Run all five and the compounding effect is real.

Per dispute

Customers who see the protection block at checkout and again on the thank-you page are far less likely to file refund requests. Customers who get a “here is your order recording” link in your support team’s first reply tend to resolve themselves. And the disputes that still come through arrive with bank-ready evidence already organized for representment.

That is how Evidora deflects refunds, friendly fraud, potential disputes, and actual chargebacks together, instead of just one of them.

The Missing Piece

Most merchants stop at Step 1, install the snippet, and assume the protection runs in the background. It does. But the deflection effect compounds when the customer can see the protection, the receipt carries it, the support team uses it, and your dispute response pulls from it. Five steps, not one.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the Evidora setup take?

About thirty minutes if you have access to your checkout, thank-you page, and email-receipt templates. Step 1 is a snippet plus a few badge images. Steps 2 and 3 are copy-paste blocks. Step 4 is a one-time CRM integration. Step 5 takes seconds per dispute once the previous steps are in place.

Do I have to do all five steps to see results?

No. Steps 1 and 2 alone will measurably reduce refund requests and dispute volume because customers who see the protection block tend to ask the merchant for help instead of filing a chargeback. Steps 3 through 5 amplify the effect.

What if my checkout already has trust badges from another provider?

Keep them. Add the Evidora badge alongside. The difference is that the others are decorative. Evidora’s badge is backed by an actual session recording and a verifiable Evidence Record ID for that specific transaction.

Will adding the “View My Order” block confuse customers?

The opposite. Customers who can review their own order recording feel more in control, which tends to reduce buyer’s remorse refund requests and disputes filed for “I don’t recognize this charge” or “I didn’t authorize this.”

Does the public E-Record URL expose sensitive data?

No. Evidora is built to comply with PCI DSS and never captures cardholder data, CVV, expiration, or any Sensitive Authentication Data. The E-Record shows the consumer’s interaction with the merchant page, not the contents of the payment iframe.

Can my AI support agent attach the E-Record link automatically?

Yes. The Evidora API returns the E-Record URL for any order. Most AI support tools (Zendesk AI, Gorgias Automate, Intercom Fin, custom GPT-based agents) can call the API on ticket creation and inject the link into the first response.

Run the playbook. Watch the deflection happen.

Most of the impact lands in the first hour of setup. Free to start, one line of code on your checkout, and the rest is copy-paste. Pay only when you retain a record.
